It had a lot of trouble getting around corners and getting up the ramp . The gear that helps the train get around the track was wearing out . As well if we could purchase the train on its own we would do so. They snap together and don't come apart as easily as the old version. My daughter got her Mickey Mouse version a few years ago and over time the connections have come loose and the pieces can easily detach when bumped. But it's great there are adapters so I can link to the older tracks. You'll have to help your kid put it together, but that's part of the fun too.
