It has all his favorite characters and some decorated for the holidays. The holiday themed trains were such a hit! He got more excited with each one! The boys enjoyed opening each day and seeing which Thomas &amp; Friends train they would find. The trains a miniature size and all can link together to make a giant parade of trains. They enjoyed placing all the trains back inside the days and taking them out again. There is an excellent selection of various types of trains which makes it perfect for a kid that is just starting a Thomas collection. However, it&rsquo;s great to have a couple duplicates of the favorites like Thomas since these are small so they may get lost in the bottom of your purse. They are lighter than the metal ones that weigh down my bag and hurt my shoulder. The holiday decorated engines and train cars were immediate favorites for my boys. Both of my kids love anything with a surprise, and that is exactly what this is! Each day there is a place to open that reveals a surprise! Love that you can play with the pieces starting Day 1 and don't have to wait till the end (like other advent calendars). Includes 24 different mini trains that can be connected together (Although they sometimes are hard to keep together). It came with 24 different wagons .
