We play with these buildings as a family. From a building perspective, it's brilliant - they used bulldozer buckets to form the roof! From a play perspective... my kids love it. They've been playing with the set for days now.
The only negative that I'd raise is the number of mini-figs. This really should have had a Ninjago-level number of minifigs. The courtyard really needs 6+ figs to feel "alive", which doesn't leave a lot of extra figs to fill out the buildings. This set could easily have 18 figs and not feel crowded.</span>

<span itemprop="description">As others have said, this is a brilliant build, full of things that start with you saying to yourself "what on earth is this going to be" and finishing up with a broad grin on your face (piano, dentist's chair, drum kit). I only have two minor gripes, (a) there are a lot of 'single piece on single piece' areas, especially the flat ones (these are difficult to get perfect, you'd have thought Lego could produce a double-thickness 1x1 flat piece) and (b), more importantly, I thought it was very poor that the arched windows have no glass when all the others do, it was disappointing that a finishing touch like that was missing when everything else about this set is so amazing</span>
