Another parenting plus, the lightsaber is only 30&quot; fully extended making it shorter than some other models making it a great choice for smaller kids, and is only 11&quot; long when retracted into the hilt making it easy to store. The blade extends easily with a flick, but smaller kids like my 5 year old may need to give it a tug to secure it into place. The Sith Warrior model comes with two Kyber crystals which can be worn as pendants on the included necklace or placed in the crystal chamber on the hilt. What's a Kyber crystal? I have no idea but my older nephews were very impressed. My son was really excited when we opened the box as well. However when we took it out of box and it didn't light up at all, all interest was lost. It's easy to use and lots of fun. He hasn't stopped playing with it for over a week. It comes with a crystal gem that can be placed in the light saber or hung on a necklace. The only thing I'd like is for it to light up, but it doesn't. I had a kid who finally hit the ripe old age of 9. I had been training her with lightsabers and lightsaber combat since the age of 2. Years of pushing her to better herself and give in to the dark side. Talk about a hit to the feels when I brought her home a sith saber and she decided that Jedi was a better following. Now itnis just difficult to see her after such a betrayl to my new household. I worry that one day she may rise up against me and strike me down. Guess only time will tell. Highly recommended. Kyber crystals are a sort of gummy rubber.
