<span itemprop="description">My favorite technic build so far. Directions were clearer than other builds. The colors are better than others. The moving pistons are awsome. The actual drum movements are very cool. Only thing bad is the hand crank for the concrete drum comes off to easy. Needs a longer piece that sticks out from the actual handle, like they do on the tires.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work with concrete mixer wagons almost every day, so my siblings thought this would be be the ideal gift for a recent "big birthday", combining my passion for all things construction with my life-long love of Lego.
Enjoyable to build, with clever gearings for both driving and mixing/discharge of the drum, as well as the rack & pinion steering.
Not too much of a challenge but a great way to spend the odd 30-60 minutes each day for a week or so. My 8yr old grandson would have found it tricky, but in another year or so, he'd be more than capable.
Great play value too, both for me and the grandchildren but....
The upper hopper is missing, the hopper that's used to feed aggregates *into* the drum when the wagon is loading at the batch plant.
It's a technical detail, maybe, but it really should have been included on what is a premium model, and it would make it so, so much easier for these older, clumsier hands to add the "concrete" to the drum when the kids are playing.
I'm looking into how I can fashion one for myself - it just keeps bugging me that such a simple part is so patently missing from an otherwise great bit of kit.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This was a fun build and I enjoyed putting it together. The functions all work very well. It does come with quite a few stickers. They are not hard to put on but just a minor inconvenience during the build. They do add finer detail which makes the model look good.
Despite that, I would rate this 4 stars for the following reasons:
1. The turning radius is not great (compared to the mobile crane with similar size). However, it is easy to fix by removing some parts. I think this was a bit sloppy from design perspective.
2. Six of the light blue 4x4 angular beams had different shade of color then the rest. Was easy enough to order replacement.
3. Value. This set has less part count than the mobile crane, but is more expensive (May be due to 2 large drum pieces).
I would still recommend this set as it provides quite a good play experience (which one would expect from the technic set) and the colors are quite pleasing as well</span>

<span itemprop="description">This was a gift for my 9 year old son. He had outgrown many of the other Lego sets. It required the help of an older brother and time over 3 days to build. Most of the effort goes into building the mechanics if the truck, which included a differential and a transmission ( I’m told). Once assembled there is lots of play value in the truck switching from driving to dumping mode, and watching lego “concrete” be delivered.</span>
