I've viewed the show on the television machine and this abomination was entirely inaccurate. Its fore paws were exclusively lacking in the necessary field of balance required to support its immense bulk. My personal attendant did not share my position and wishes me to say that the miniature plastic figurines were exactly the characters I required for my latest video production. In any case not only were the aforementioned fore paws thoroughly inadequate but were subject to a splendid fragmentation when used. Finally though I have mentioned that the miniature plastic figurines were what I required they deteriorated impressively after heavy use
Date published: 2021-08-05

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brodytvonyt from Great dragon If you are new to Lego this great and still if you are a collector this is a great set
Date published: 2021-06-19

Rated 3 out of 5 by KokanTheBrick from Its Ok, but it could be great. I was looking forward to building this set and finally got around to build it over the weekend. Sadly, a bit disappointed. Ninjago have become some of my favourite sets recently, the new mechs just seem to get better and better, I am looking forward to getting my hands on the new 71738 and a couple of the island themed ones. But about this build. The idea of using this as a tabletop game is cool, it is something that I played with a bit and I am looking forward to giving this a whirl with my girlfriend one of these days. The overall design of the tabletop side of this set its rather good. Nice detail all over. The dragon itself is cool, though my favourite feature is easily the head. Awesome detail and use of different Lego parts to just make the design work perfectly. However, there are some flaws. Mainly regarding the balance of this little beast. As is, there only seems to have one position where it remains balanced and sitting on its four legs, otherwise most times it ends up tilting forwards which is a pity. It is sorely missing at least one more rotation axis at the top of the front leg. The wings are cool but being white and non-printed below remove a lot of their appeal. Also, the way they interface with the body remove a lot of its ability to pose. The tail kind of moves on its own volition and given that it is so hard to balance, it ends up coiled forward most of the times. I will have to probably get around it and do some changes to the design, mainly around the front legs. But I am disappointed that for the big price, this set feels somewhat unfinished.
Date published: 2021-03-22

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maxandmomma from Awesome I bought this for my 10 year Olds birthday gift. The build experience and detail on the model are both great; however, the issue is the construction of the front legs - and how that construction affects ability to play. The front leg joints - specifically those at the ankle and knee locations - do not support the weight of the model (At least, I would call them the knee and ankle joints - dragon anatomy is not my area of expertise). These joints are the smooth ball-and-socket type joints, which do not lend themselves to stability with the weight of the dragon. Unless perfectly poised, Grief-Bringer tends to fall forward on his face (snout). This is in contrast to the click-type of joint, as used on the hind legs at the hip joint. There have been no issues with these joints and the rear legs. The front leg and wing assemblies also tend to fall off if the model is handled too much. It looks like the root cause of this issue is the fact that the front leg and wing sub-assemblies are joined to the body with two short rods, which do not snap or lock into place. I have needed to re-build this model enough times that my son is hesitant to even play with it anymore; it has become a display piece.
Date published: 2021-02-14

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jon3 from Totally super cool Son’s Description: i am 8 yrs old and I love this set it is so awesome. Admittedly, I've never tried to play it but that didn't stop me wanting to get all the sections for it - nice marketing Lego Group...lol. When I started building I hadn't realised that it came with some nice little scenes to construct before you get to the main even of the dragon. These are nicely detailed and, even better, include a wonderful stone mini figure that made this non-mini-fig collector exceptionally happy. Talking of Mini Figures the bad guys that are included with this Ninjago set are top notch, in fact they definitely rank in my favourites - Cole, Kai, Lloyd and crew are okay but the bad guys are really where it is at on the Ninjago kits and these are second only to Fire Fang. The dragon himself looks fantastic built and is actually really sturdy when built. I was surprised at how tough he is and definitely great for play. I love the little rubber band mechanism that allows you to house a "spider egg" in the rib cage of the dragon and drop it like a little bio-bomb. Great little feature that adds to gameplay and also adds a nice bright pop of colour to the model when on display. He is really large when built and the wingspan is impressive. The cloth wings keep it light and look good when fitted. On the whole super impressed with the finished model.
