The modularity is very cool and extremely satisfying. Love the building techniques, especially the cornices of the building. The story in the set is great too. Although it may just appear as a building, I appreciate the underlying stories that this set has, and as I have discovered, others also have, such as the Brick Bank. It's inspired me to begin building my own Lego city and I can't wait for more modulars to be released.
Date published: 2021-04-16

Rated 4 out of 5 by flegomingo from 2 Missing pieces + 5 Incorrect pieces so far I purchased this in early April and started building it few days ago. I was very excited to see such compact yet cute details this product had (thief stealing the doughnut!). However, the joy started to fade away one by one when I found out that two fundamental pieces were missing. Without these the building is left with two holes in the wall. While waiting for missing pieces to arrive, I moved onto building the next layer, only to realise this time there are 5 incorrect pieces which not only makes interior look different but also creates unstable foundation for the front part of the building. I will carry on building as far as I can to see if there are more missing parts/incorrect pieces. Then, I will make an official complaint because now the joy of building this cute quirky Police Station is gone. Instead, I now worry about what other missing parts there might be.
Date published: 2021-04-15

Rated 5 out of 5 by jordojd from Tons of Secrets This is my first Modular set build, and I absolutely love Modular Police Station. I love how the designer has small secrets sprinkled throughout as you build as it helps unravel the mystery of the story behind the set itself. First, you find the newspaper on the stand talking about a donut thief, then you build the 2nd story where the police station has donuts lying on the table next to the mug shot station, the apartment has a secret door that leads to the donut shop, then the 3rd story with an evidence locker chockful of items pointing to the crime, then a bird with a stolen donut on the window ledge! Who truly is the thief? Did the news stand owner commit the crime to sell papers? Is he the apartment owner above the donut shop with the secret door? Or is it the bird stealing the donuts? That's what I absolutely love, the story seems to come alive all throughout the entire build and truly sucked me into the experience and I haven't even begun discussing the building itself! The aesthetics are reminiscent of 1930s Americana with a hint of Art Deco architectural styling. the side buildings are a bit small, but I'm glad they opened up the donut shop inside to allow more space for displaying all those incredible sweets. The only boring part was stacking brick upon brick to the sides and back walls just because there's no styling to them. I know it's for good reason, as these sets are designed to be placed next to each and would cover the sides anyway, but that was my only complaint. I am very, very happy with this set and plan to look for more modular sets to add to my new collection. Well done LEGO, well done.
Date published: 2021-04-08

Rated 5 out of 5 by SunDevil from Fun Set and Worth the Money This was my first modular build...it was a fun build and so many little details to it. The build seemed pretty simple to follow and lego did a great job putting the instructions all together. The only negative is that some of the bricks (colors) look very similar and you have to do a double take when building and looking at the instructions, Overall its a huge piece and the value for a 3000 piece this big is totally worth it.
Date published: 2021-04-05

Rated 5 out of 5 by cnw1385 from LEGO Street Blues The deeper I got into this project, the more impressed I was at the forethought that went into the interior layout of the "cop shop." Citizens walk into the ground floor to file reports with the desk sergeant. Second floor is where officers write reports or follow up with victims and/or witnesses using the manual typewriter and rotary phone. The alcove for taking mug shots is ingenious. (My only criticism, and it's a minor one, is the lack of a Detective minifigure) Third floor is the admin level: precinct commander's office and private washroom. I smiled a little upon seeing both the washroom and holding cell downstairs come with toilets, which I believe is a first for LEGO. The location of the evidence locker across from the captain's office is entirely logical in that she's able to monitor the comings and goings of her officers. I didn't understand the purpose for the twin "plaques" at the top of the stairway until I attached the small shields and intuited they were memorials for officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. A nice, poignant touch from my perspective as a retired police officer. So many wonderful details: the evidence in the property lockers; the phonograph/radio combo and small kitchen in the apartment over the doughnut shop; the bluebird with his trophy doughnut on the window ledge. I found assembly a bit of a challenge at times, but the finished product is well worth the investment of time and energy. On a closing note, I added minifigures to the rooftop: Commissioner and Barbara Gordon, the latter with her handheld Bat Signal, two Gotham cops and the Dark Knight of course. I imagine them conferring post-midnight about the latest depredations of the Joker.
Date published: 2021-04-04

Rated 5 out of 5 by Torstar from Nice! The build was about 9 ish hours, taking my time to enjoy it and noting a few of the build techniques for some of mocs. The inside staircase...magnificent LOVE IT. I like the fact that its an older police station the cops look they are from the 50's maybe...very nice. Love the entire look of the police building and all the nooks and crannies inside (the hollowed out basement dug out by the crook, very cool!) The news stand is neat and a perfect spot for it (Not sure why there is a 1x6 empty spot behind it. Doesnt make sense. Really wish the designers pushed it back , but it is what it is). I just wish it was just a police station. No donut shop attached. The three floors could have been the jail cell, The interrogation room the jail and the mug shot space. The current cell space could be used as an office for the chief, extra weapons and the like on the different floors. Perhaps in the near future i will turn the donut shop into that. But the donut shop is nice, i do like it but perhaps as part of another build or i will make it a mini mod in-between a couple of other buildings. The worst part was the missing pieces. I have the space station, lunar lander, the mars shuttle Saturn V and the book shop and between them MAYBE 5 missing pieces, this build, i was missing 25 pieces!!(and i do empty the bags I am working on into take away containers and make sure there is nothing in the bag) Thankfully i have the pieces in my collection to replace them. I am sure its a one off since only one other person mentioned missing pieces. I'm just thankful i wasnt missing any of the stair pieces or the green or purple bricks i dont have any of those. Still was a lot of fun to build and looks fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone looking to add some law and order to thier lego city. Well worth the money!! I agree with one other reviewer However, there really needs to be a police dog ;)
Date published: 2021-04-04

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kezza345 from Number 16 Hi all, I’m lucky enough to have all of the modular buildings and have been collecting for a good few years. I got this the day it was released and I have to admit I wasn’t keen when I found out it was a police station that was this year’s modular. I’m a big fan of these buildings but just thought this was no way going to make the cut. How wrong I was. I love it and it’s at the top of my favourite buildings second only to assembly square. The colours are great and I love that Lego have used the space within the building well. Some different building ideas which I haven’t seen before and also some new bricks that have been used. If you want to start collecting these modulars then the police station is a great place to start.
Date published: 2021-03-21

LEGO Icons Police Station 10278 Reviews - page 2

y_2021, m_5, d_6, h_17

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.15

cp_1, bvpage1

co_hasreviews, tv_0, tr_76

loc_en_CA, sid_0426EA70, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_toysrus-ca

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 7ms

reviews, product
