It has good details and the painting is flawless. My 5 year enjoys it very much and is happy to expand his Thomas &amp; Friends train collection. My biggest con is that the magnet disconnects too easily. You have to pull it very slowly by the front in order for it to stay together. That was very difficult to do for my 2 year old. This toy frustrated him greatly. Even though it says for 2 year olds and up, I think 2 year olds will have a hard time playing with it. It is not flimsy, and the magnets hold up well. They unpackaged it right away and went to play. They loved added it to their wooden tracks we already have and it fit on the tracks. I do wish it was a little bigger to more easily handle for my little one. We play with James during the show and my toddler even mimics James through play time which is quite hysterical. He has always loved the Thomas the train show and it&rsquo;s nice to have a new addition to his growing train collection. This James train fits the wooden train track set as well, and another wooden track set that we had on hand before. He is constructed quite well and I believe he will last a while. The face and wheel parts feel as if they are made of plastic but even when he has used it outside James hasn&rsquo;t showed any wear. James does not have any stickers so I don&rsquo;t have to worry about him pulling them off. On the front side and back side of James is small enclosed magnets which either allow the additional train cart to be pulled or pushed away.
