This version is perfect in my opinion. It is super soft and works wonderfully as a way for baby to prop him or herself up during tummy time. I have b/g twins who are 3 months old and b/c of colic and acid reflux they hated tummy time. With this they like the bright colors and are able to push up their chest better without the discomfort they felt on the play mat. Because it rolls a little (depending on what surface you put it on) they get to practice their crawling movements too, with little kicks and their arms stretched out (something they didn't do on the boppy). They love the crinkle sound and practice grabbing at the soft pieces that stick out. Both babies have shown improved neck and back strength and control after playing with this only a few times (over regular tummy time and boppy tummy time). My son will actually stare at it when it is in the corner and cry until I realize that is what he wants and I bring it out. Both the twins light up and smile when they play with it. Unless I was literally holding on to my son, the pillow would roll forward and he would fall off of it, or he would stretch his legs out and roll over top of it and do a face-plant into the floor (maybe a square pillow would be better??). The crab is very loud and there is no off switch. It is not removable so I had to cut it off. The mirror and teething toy are attached by &quot;velcro&quot; which does not hold (I found this to be a benefit since with the toys removed my son had more fun playing with the tabs that held them). The crinkle tabs (leaves) are also fun for a few minutes. My husband uses the pillow for lumbar support but that's about all it's good for. The pillow part is a sort of memory foam so even though it looks big it compresses. Easy to carry around. Many different things to play with (teether, crinkly leaves, rattle, different textures, etc) as well as realistic images for later use. My only complaint is the crab. It cannot turn off and I find it rather loud for something that is close to baby. You have to take out the batteries if you don't want it to turn on. You really have to watch them though as it rolls forward quite easily so if they push with their legs they do go forward.
