She just has fun mixing up the cupcake pieces. The game contents are different now (I bought this game TODAY, so it can't be more up to date). There is no longer a timer. The &quot;time running out&quot; is now all four clock pieces being turned over before a &quot;restart&quot; card is picked, and there are 15 cards. So chances are good time will never run out, which is much better when trying to play a game with little ones. (You can secretly remove a piece of the clock to guarantee time won't run out.) There are also 15 cards instead of 30. Fewer pieces to lose! And then the 10 &quot;recipe&quot; cards and the 10 cupcakes, each with 4 pieces. I suggest getting a cute little &quot;recipe box&quot; to put all the pieces in, and then put the box up in a closet somewhere, and maybe a little apron. All opinions are my own.** Disney Princesses are a big thing in our house, as our tea parties, and baking. My daughter was so excited to see this game that we had to break it open right away! In the first go around she was much more interested in just building the cupcakes for each princess. But as we played again, she started to get the idea of using the recipe card to make the cupcake. The part about turning over the tiles until you get Mix, Bake, Decorate does not really add anything to the game, but it does not really take anything away either. It just a little &quot;build up&quot; to making the cupcakes. I really like the idea of having to following the recipe cards to make the specific cupcakes. The idea of following the directions, working while timed, all good skills for future game play. And putting the pieces together is a good practice for fine motor skills. My daughter is almost 4 and this game seems pretty much geared right at her age level. I like how this is a game she could play by herself or with her friends (with or without the timer component).
