The truck comes with 6 blocks, 2 of each shape. The blocks are heart, circle and hexagon shaped. When the tiddler is sitting on the seat, they can put the blocks into the red &quot;recycling bin&quot; on the front of the truck. Once they are done, they can dump the block into the truck for recycling/ storage. The kiddo can also place the blocks into the appropriate shaped slot. The truck will play a little tune when the kiddo is recycling. The truck does require (2) AA batteries. You can use the ones included, but will run out of battery quickly; therefore, I recommend just changing them right when you get it. There is a max weight limit of 42 pounds and is intended for kiddos 1&frac12;-3 years of age. Overall, I would most definitely recommend this as a gift or toy for a toddler! I'm amazed that this truck is made from plastic that is 90% reclaimed. I like that it teaches kids early the importance of recycling and reusing items to prevent unnecessary waste into the already overflowing landfills. My daughter absolutely loves to sort the different colored shapes and place them into the correct recycling bins. This truck features 12 recycling buttons and 3 smart sorting bins that play different melodies when you insert the march shape and push the button. This truck is adorable. Cleanup is easy since all of the pieces are stored inside the truck. While I like that it has many functions so kids don't get bored of it right away, some functions don't measure up. First, the ride on feature is like most kids multifunctional riding toys and they are not meant to be as nice and smooth riding as say just a riding toy. Also, I feel like the whole recycling and reuse topic is a little much at that age. While it is good for them to start learning early, I would think the basics (1,2,3 and A,B,C's) would be better. This toys does have a lot of buttons to press and shap blocks to sort, along with music.
