My 12yr old helped my 4yr old build the set from the directions. My 4yr old uses her imagination, builds and plays. It's easy to get the pieces together and apart, it's bright and makes noises. There are so many different ways to set it up and it does give you options for beginner to advanced building levels. It is technically for ages 4 plus as there are small pieces. I monitor my 2-year-old after helping set it up and watching her play with the marbles. It can be hours and hours of fun play time as there are 102 building pieces and 10 marbles. My boy is really like the corkscrew tumbler so that they can watch the marbles go round and round. The corkscrew is electronic and activates music and lights when in use. There are other sets which can also be collected and connected to each other. It can make for a very large and challenging marble set with endless fun. As a mom, I also enjoy playing this with my kids!
