The kids love playing with it and it's a great addition to their Transformers collection. It's well made so it can withstand a lot of wear and tear. He has another Optimus Prime toy that was difficult for him to transform and ultimately after many tries he gave up on it. This toy however was so much easier for him to transform from truck to robot form Optimus prime which made him really enjoy the toy. The attack modes also were a good touch for him to pretend fight. He tore open the box immediately to play with it. However, when the time came that he wanted to turn it into the truck, it was easier said than done. It's not that simple. The instructions are just pictures and very vague. My husband and I both tried as well as our teen daughters. After much frustration we finally figured it out. My son enjoys playing with Optimus Prime, but he's content to leave him as his Transformer and not turn him into a truck. I don't know who was more excited about this Transformer-my daughter or me? We've been having a blast. It's such a sturdy Transformer. I love the size too, not small and not huge. Yes, although instructions were provided, it still took some practice to transform it, but once we did, it was so simple. Optimus Prime looks great. It's very detailed and really nice. My daughter hasn't stopped playing with it. Definitely reminiscent of a G1 Optimus re-issue with some die-cast metal inside the chest which was a pleasant surprise! My now 10-y/o had such a bad time with the other Transformer lines lately (Studio and even Masterpiece) so we were happy as this seems to be a much sturdier and better quality build than more recent releases! If the fists were not hiding behind the headlights (it's fixed and can't be changed) and the price was a bit better, I would have given 5 stars...
