It truly does mimic the bouncing motions that I used to make by gently bouncing our old bouncer - but this bouncer bounces on it's own! There are two &quot;bounce levels&quot;, as well as a variety of soft music and nature sounds. The bounce motion is wonderful in that it allows you a moment of time when you need your hands free, while still soothing your baby and providing them a safe, comfortable place. The design of the bouncer is beautiful, which is typical of Ingenuity products. I really like the plush fabric, as well as the adjustable insert. The fabric can be removed to machine wash as needed. The toy bar can be pivoted back when you are putting baby in the bouncer, and has an adorable owl and lion plushie hanging from the bar. Assembly was very easy and straightforward. The automatic bouncer requires three C batteries, and you will need a screwdriver to install them.
