My child picked up on the controls right away after removing from the box. He's 6 years old. He said he really likes playing with it and so far he literally has been taking care of it multiple times a day since we opened it. It has a ton of different activities to do with your pet and you can invite other pets to take care of as well. The only downfall I found with the product is the awkward packaging when trying to open it. But once it's out of the package, it's no big deal. It is abit noisy as it makes a vibrating kind of noise and there's no mute option. But other then that, it's a really cool toy and I would recommend to anyone who wants their child to have a virtual pet!
