Probably perfect for 3-8 year olds. My kids all love it too, but I enjoy playing with it! It's larger than I thought it would be - it's 12 inches across. It goes pretty high and very fast. The string takes a little strength to pull it hard and fast, but that's what makes it have so much power. Once it starts spinning, one of the blades has lights on it and will light up so it'll spin in colors. The pull string retracts back into its case on its own and its ready to go again. It works best outside with minimal trees or places where it can get stuck (roofs, etc.). But, we have used it in the house to test it out and it lights up pretty bright and is easy to pull.
