The playdough can be used to make feed for the animals and eggs for the little chicks to hatch from. My four year old daughter is just at that age where she is really starting to get into playing with Barbies and she was so excited when we opened this one, because she is also really big into farm things. The doll that came with the set is very cute and my little one was very excited about the animals. This product does have lots of small pieces with it, that can be hard to keep track of, so I wouldn't recommend it for little one and would advise parents to keep a close eye on play if another little sibling is around. The product can almost fully assemble and the directions were very easy to follow. The play dough aspect of this toy is nice, but over all I don't really think that it needed.
