It doesn't take a whole lot of coordinated action for a little one to make the puppy make contended sounds, sleeping sounds, and sucking sounds. It comes with accessories like a pacifier and bottle that fit into its mouth, and they really stay put tightly (which is a plus for toys with tiny parts). It is hard like a little robot covered in fabric rather than a traditional stuffed animal. It's definitely not for kids under 4 as some of the accessories are really small (smaller than thumb size). I appreciate that there is nothing more to buy as it comes w/ 3 tiny batteries inside &amp; it's ready to go. I love the pattern on the fur &amp; the overall concept. It makes sweet noises like it's lapping up food, purring, and meowing. The only downside for me was that I can't find a way to turn it off &amp; it goes off randomly sometimes &amp; I find the body a little hard. It would be nice with a bit of stuffing somehow to make the kitty softer. Overall I think it's adorable &amp; neither of those things are a deal-breaker. When it's not being used, it will go into a sleep mode, where it makes no noise. However, if you want to wake it up, you need to either press an internal button on its back, or insert one of the accessories that came with it. It makes noises, but a few don't sound like normal puppy noises at all, which my daughter didn't like about it. The only thing that moves on this puppy is the eyelids that open and close. Otherwise, it remains still. I'm unsure as to the battery life of this yet, because they haven't died. The plush is soft to the touch. When you touch his/her back it wakes up. It whimpers and barks ever so lightly. If you keep giving it attention it will keep making noise. If you stop it will start to snore and go to sleep. It is almost the size of an out stretched hand. It fits perfectly in little hands. It does interact with it bottle and other accessories, by making a sucking sound. It also takes 3 AAA batteries to operate. Now for the downside. It is not very cuddly due to the mechanism that makes it function. Basically it's hard plastic mechanism that has been covered by a layer of plush and no stuffing. Next I think this is something that will get attention because it is new and it will get pushed aside and forgotten.
