It's a mad dash to the snack stash with The Wild Moose Chase game! Spruce is one hungry moose, and he's sniffed out the forest critters' snack stash. Players choose from 2 ways to play: they can try to win together or race their friends to the snack stash in the center of the board. First, spin the spinner to determine how many spaces to move along the gameboard's path. As a cooperative game, players then team up to get the animal movers to the snacks - before Spruce gets there and gobbles them up! Players win together if all 3 critters reach the snacks before Spruce. As a competitive game, players compete against each other to be the first to the snacks. This game includes 4 wooden movers - Spruce the Moose, Fern the Fox, Pecan the Porcupine, and Acorn the Owl. A fun game for playdates, family game night, or classrooms. this cooperative board game for ages 3 and up makes an adorable gift for families and preschoolers. <span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son liked this game, and I did as well, but it does get a little boring pretty quickly. The game is designed to where you just spin the spinner and then move whatever piece gets identified by the spinner (instead of spinning for your specific piece). So you don't really feel that sense of competition cause it's complete chance which pieces get to move. It's targeted to younger children though and they were probably trying to cater to preventing temper tantrums and whatnot when the younger kids "lose". So basically it's just an introduction to board games, but it serves it's purpose well.</span>

The game pieces are more like wooden figures - not the flimsy thin cardboard like most games so they will actually hold up! The game board itself fits together like a puzzle piece and the directions are pasted onto the inside of the box, so no worry about losing the instructions. I played with my 4 and almost 8 year old sons and both loved it. It was a team game - so we are all working together for a common goal versus competing against each other. They loved it!</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son has asked to play this game three days in a row. I love how you can play this game two different ways- cooperatively in a race against Spruce the moose or competitively against each other.
My son had so much fun working towards a common goal and got really excitable when we passed Spruce the Moose. I loved how this game encouraged practice of so many social sportsmanship goals, like turn taking, working together, encouraging one another, and winning and losing with grace.
The game pieces were high quality- but I do wish the stickers were on both side of the game piece. The characters are cute and loveable- in fact, my son has been using the game pieces during free play.
It has really helped my four year old with number recognition and one to one correspondence. I only wish somehow the numbers could be a wee bit bigger. I also disliked that the arrow on the spinner covered the numbers. I even loved how the board needed to be assembled like a puzzle- so many learning opportunities. The organization of the game box was great and kept the pieces neat. I like how my son can take this out and put it away independently. It’s also really small (size of a extra small pizza box) so it can be stored really easily. This game will defined become a staple for our Friday game night.</span>
