I love the Vick's Germ Free Humidifier with its simplicity and easy to use features. The tank has a one gallon capacity which means it is able to run for 24 hours without refilling. Also the tank is very easy to fill and has a convenient carrying handle. The fact that it kills .999 viruses, fungus, bacteria and mold is great while getting the benefit of the moisture. There is also a slot for the Vicks vapor pads which are soothing for cough and congestion. It has 3 fan settings and runs very quietly. It's a great humidifier. It took me less than five minutes to set it up and turn it on. The first hour that it was on, the scent pad strongly scented the room and down the hall and then the smell calmed down as time went on. I noticed a change in humidity soon after it was started running. I had a sinus infection when I used it and it definitely helped me breath better during the day and night. It is pretty quiet and I can hardly hear that it is on and running. It is super easy to refill and lasts all day. Easy to use and set up overall but here comes why i give it 4 stars... the handle at the top makes it kind of awkward to have to fill up the tank upside down and does NOT lock into place once it is on the base. So, if you have a small curious child in a room where you cannot safely put it out of reach, this is quite the design flaw. Otherwise i love how you can switch between 3 varying speeds, although rather loud on high but it allows the vapors from the pad to disperse nicely. I have been running it on low in a large room and i can smell it on the other end of the room. The Vick&rsquo;s pods that you can add for a menthol scent is great for when congestion is bad. You can definitely tell a difference in using it and not. It didn't get everything wet like other style humidifiers, but the filter, that was supposed to bring the water up and out, did not hold as much water as I thought. It was dry when the kids woke up. The UV light is subtle and isn't a blinding light as you might think, but kills up to 99.9% of germs. This unit has a dial on the front for fan speed, but will not auto shut off after it runs out of water which I can see becoming a fire hazzard. Over all I love how quiet it is and how easy to clean it is. I also like how easy it is to fill with water compared to other brands. The reservoir is flat and square so you can just set it down in the sink while filling it. There is no mist, just cool air that blows out the vents - it&rsquo;s meant to be this way. The tank holds quite a bit of water and can run for hours. The humidifier can be used with or without the vapo pads. There is a slot to easily insert and remove them. It&rsquo;s slightly chunky and can&rsquo;t really be moved easily once filled. It recommends not setting it on any surface that can be damaged by water which kind of limits some options of where to put it. The filter system is made to kill 99% of germs/bacteria in the water.
