It sings a song and lights up. When you put food in its mouth it describes the food. This is great for young children to learn new vocabulary like colors and food names. It also helps with fine motor skills because children have to place the food on her tongue. After watching me model how to offer the treats, he was excited to play on his own. He doesn&rsquo;t quite have the patience or dexterity to place the disk on her tongue but the toy is durable enough to deal with an overeager toddler. He loves toys that sing songs and play music so he enjoyed the different features. It entertained him for a good 30 minutes which for toddler parents is a luxurious amount of time. My son who is just shy of two absolutely adores it and has been playing with it non stop since we got it! It has eight discs that you put on its tongue that have different things on them. His favorite one is the socks because it&rsquo;s funny and it says yuck and spits it back out. It&rsquo;s got various different songs it sings and vibrates and also sniffs the disc when you stick it near its nose! It&rsquo;s got a setting to turn off, on, and then two different loudness settings.
