The kids have spent hours changing and rearranging into new tracks to test the marble on. The pieces click on and off easily without needing to have any help from an adult. They feel well made and have not had any sharp edges or broken at all so I feel like they will hold up for many years. Tons of imagination play and engineering practice. Great for adding into a school curriculum. Overall I highly recommend this set. Well made, lots of imagination and practical play that ties into steam and stem. It is easy to build, instructions are very easy and simple to read and understand. The only thing is after everything is all set up and it's time to play the big green dump parts don't move very easy to keep the marble going unless you have three marbles on it so that can slow down everything because you have to keep going back and doing it manually and with a marble run that can be a little bit of a let down. When we got the VTech Marble Rush Tip &amp; Swirl Set, he couldn't wait to get started. This set comes with a good amount of fun pieces. My son, who is autistic, had no problem setting up a track of his own design. Later we built another design from the booklet. There are so many possibilities with this set. We also appreciate the base the track snaps into. We have a plus carpet and with other sets, we would have to use books to stabilize the track. The pieces fit into each other nicely. It's not to difficult to do at all. Plus, a big relief is that the marbles are bigger. With small kids I was scared to have small marbles around but these are a perfect size. The only downside to these marbles is the need to be a little bit heavier. Sometimes they do get stuck on the track because they are too lite. My son has been playing with this track for hours and is having a blast with Vtech Marble Rush Tip &amp; Swirl Set. And I like the fact you can build onto this track with other track designs. It's pretty easy to put together, but a smaller child will probably need adult help. I've found that the magic number of balls to use to make it work correctly is three. Any less and it's not heavy enough for the green moving funnels to drop the balls, and if you put in five which is all the balls, only three balls will fall down and the rest will stay. It teaches about gravity, slope, friction and force through putting this set together along with using the QR code to learn more. There are other sets that can be bought to make a larger marble run. The pieces are brightly colored and there are step by step instructions in colored diagrams to learn how to build it. Once your child gets familiar he can change up the layout, but will probably need more pieces in order to do that. The pieces easily snap together and are pretty stable on a floor, but I would avoid carpet if you can. This will provide hours of fun for your child and they will love to figure out which way the marble will go once released. The QR code will take you to the VTech site for more sets and challenges. The can also learn about friction, random, slope and gravity by watching the videos and how to make other sets.
