The included green screen allows your child to make videos with special effects in the background right from their camera. The front camera flips up so you can even take selfies! There are three games included as well. This item is a great gift if your child loves to create and explore cameras. This is the perfect starter set for your future star. The camera itself is a basic digital with an impressive 5mp resolution. It is coated in hard plastic, so it will be able to withstand some tumbling. The lens is reversible so that you can flip it up and watch yourself on the screen while you&rsquo;re recording yourself. With the included tripod, this is probably going to be the biggest application, as most kids are content to take 399 pictures of their left foot with their parent&rsquo;s phone rather than the point and shoot variety, which most don&rsquo;t see very often. The software has a number of shooting modes, with the most exciting being the green screen mode. It allows for you to record yourself in a variety of animated scenarios. The camera does not connect directly to the internet (which is good for children&rsquo;s safety), but you can c connect it to a computer to upload the pictures and video files. You can also add more memory to it by inserting a micro SD card (not included). As an adult who has lots of high tech gadgets, I&rsquo;ll say that this is definitely in the beginner tech toy category. Probably in the 5-9 yr old range. I did not find the directions or buttons intuitive, but I handed the camera to my daughter and she just pushed buttons for a few minutes until she had it figured out. I feel like this toy is for a very specific purpose with a very specific audience. As such i believe the price is justified. It fits in the palm of my hand. The buttons are pictures so they are easy to use for children. It comes with a tripod that can also be used as a selfie stick. The resolution max is 5 megapixels and on the internal memory you can get 120 pictures. Otherwise you have to buy your own external micro SD card and most it accepts is 32GB. It also has a green screen so you can edit your pictures with different backgrounds. My favorite feature is the flip up lens which allows my son to take selfies. That way I don't have to be taking pictures of him. It has been great because he loves it and won't put it down. He instantly loved it and has been taking pictures and videos nonstop. When he finishes a puzzle or LEGO build he sets up the tripod and takes a picture. There are a lot of features he hasn't even gotten to yet such as all the built-in video editing options. The camera comes with a green screen to do some fun stuff with and the camera can actually rotate around so that my son can see himself through the view finder. The menu is simplistic and intuitive for kids and it recharges via USB rather than batteries, which is nice. The only thing I wish it had was a touchscreen view finder because with smart phones and iPads, kids instinctively start pressing the screen and swiping. It took a little bit for him to get used to using the arrow pad to navigate the screen instead of pressing on the screen. I do realize that's a pretty big cost jump to add that but like I said, it's the only criticism I could find. Loves the invisibilty trick. There are many features we won&rsquo;t be able to use yet as my son is about to turn 6. So in time he can grow into some of those features, like the video editing. I like the included tripod and GoPro style mount. The set don&rsquo;t secure together super well. But my son asked to mount the camera to his bike to record himself. It worked perfectly.
