I think they are excellent for kids not only to play but to start to learn things work on motor skills and sights and sounds. For ages 3 months and up. When you turn the book on and turn the pages the book plays a song for nearly every page. There's moveable parts for kids to play with. There's only one light in it tho . But there's lots of different music and noises. So it kept the kids occupied for quite a while . I have read it to her multiple times and played the sounds for her. She really likes hearing the different sounds and looking at the pictures in the book. They both definitely get her attention. The rhymes in the book are nice as well. She is constantly pressing the buttons and I hear this going all day long. She even takes it with her when she goes down for her nap time. It is difficult to keep a toddler interacted with a toy for a long time, but she doesn't have any problem with this music book. Another great toy from VTech. We already have another version of the VTech Music Book that we got for older child several years ago. These books are fun and brightly colored, super sturdy and durable, and very entertaining. Both of my kiddos love the nursery rhymes as well as the push buttons with different instrument sounds. I love that the volume is adjustable and the batteries seem to last forever.
