They have to work to get the dinosaurs out of the egg and it builds their excitement on what they will find. We liked the concept of mining for the dino creatures, but the solid block was very hard to work through. The material used to make the block let out a lot of dust when it was broken. My kids didn't seem to be strong enough to mine the creatures out by themselves, so I had to help them. Once you get to digging it can be a little difficult. I recommend having a bottle of water ready and once you pour it, it makes it easier to dig.
