My son had a little trouble putting it together himself so i helped. It took about an hour to assemble, The instructions were easy just lots of pieces. Once put together it worked amazingly. My son is 11 and loves it. It will pick up an iphone xs max and some heavier things. It is easy to use is all hydraulics. Works on levers and water pressure. It took him a while to assemble it but he enjoyed the process. It's a great challenging experience for him. I like that there is no need for power or to buy batteries. The directions were easy to follow and it took about a couple of hours to complete the finished product.
