My one year old was still waking up during the night for milk, so I started giving him a warm walk milk and cereal before bedtime in my new TommeeTippee bottle and after the first night he started sleeping all through the night. The nipple has a large star shaped opening. I like to make him smoothies everyday and I struggled to make it watery enough to go through a regular bottle. This bottle is perfect for his daily smoothies, he doesn&rsquo;t choke. I was worried he wouldn&rsquo;t take this bottle because it was shaped like his other bottles, but he did just great. The bottle is sleek and easy to hold. The markings are very clear and easy to see especially in dim lighting. I added some cereal to the bottle and the Y-shaped hole made it easy for the thickened mixture to come out of the bottle. I also like the nipple shape and it&rsquo;s similar to the milk bottles we already use. The cap is secure but comes off easily unlike some of the bottles I have where it&rsquo;s a struggle to remove the cap even with both hands. Although the bottle works well in theory, my little one is struggling a little with it since he&rsquo;s not used to this flow rate. He takes a few sips before it&rsquo;s too much for him. I think he will eventually get the hang of it but he just needs to get used to it. I absolutely love them. I have used them from day 1 with my newborn, and he loves them as well. I decided to purchase some additional bottles, because he is turning 6 months old, and has increased the amount of formula during feedings (while being on a special thicker formula, with rice cereal being added to every bottle, due to dietary issues). The volume these bottles hold are great, especially with adding cereal to the already thick formula. The only issue I have is that the flow of the nipples are super fast. Be very careful. It does state 6 months+, but no matter how much I continued to thicken the formula with cereal it still seemed to pour out of the nipple. My son choked, so I decided to replace the nipple with a 0+ month slow flow nipple that came with the 9oz set I already own. Worked like a charm! I went out and purchased additional 0+month slow flow Closer to Nature nipples to go with each of the 6, 11oz bottles I got. So I ended up paying an additional $20 for replacement nipples, but it was worth it in the end to have additional bottles, and they are bigger.
