I also bought an add on of extra track and train so we had multiple trains going around the tracks that my little boy absolutely loved. The product is great value for money and the kids will get hours of fun out of it. This Thomas train is adorable with colorful paint splatter all over him. The track pieces connect, and Thomas pulls Troublesome Truck around it. Pulling the red lever makes Thomas stop, so you can load a paint can (the set comes with 2 of them) onto Troublesome Truck using the hook. Then when you switch the red lever the other way, Thomas is able to move again with Troublesome Truck behind him who dumps out the paint can from his cart. My son has become obsessed recently with trains and so I knew he was going to LOVE this set. I loved how colorful everything is and how easy it was to put together and operate. So far the train set has been able to withstand the roughness that my son has put it through no problem. I love that all of the pieces are easy to use and figure out for kids. I also love how easy it is to turn the train on and off. I showed my son how to flip the switch once, and that was all it took. The switch is easy to move back and forth allowing the child to operate it on their own. I will say that I am unsure of the battery life of the train. Ours seemed to run out faster than I was anticipating but I also am not sure if my son left it turned on for an extended period of time. Overall I would say that the set is great in size and quality. My little boy has played with it every day since it arrived for at least an hour. My 3 yr old put 95% of thus track together himself, with some help on figuring where certain tracks went. Works well on both flat surfaces as well as carpet. Which was a huge hit for us. There so so many things to do with this track as far as keeping the interest alive. Dropping the buckets into the train caboose was such a great skill building lesson. With having to use hand eye coordination. Making there the train was lined up just right. It was simple to assemble and easy to add batteries too. Once we got it all set up I showed her how to turn it on and she was off! She did get a bit irritated when thomas would run off the track to the danger sign but once she figured out how to change the track it was smooth sailing. I think her favorite part about the whole thing was thomas the train- she would add her small toys to the train and send them riding thomas around her entire room with no tracks. When the train goes up the bridge it has a bump that allows the Load to be shot off. It can stop at the station to pick up a new load with the hook feature on the crane, which is a fun for the kids. We like the bright colors of the green track. It could be improved upon but it is enjoyable to do with your child after initial set up. The box is a little complicated to open as there are two openings. The main train car is wound with a thick string which is a little difficult to get off. The stickers are odd shapes and luckily they give you ample room to put them on but you made need to be cautious so they look good. The track goes together easily and actual set up is great. The controls to stop the car are pretty fun but this is difficult for young children to operate as the train has a lever that you really need to use two hands to turn on and off so that the train stays on the track. Also, the batter compartment requires the train car to come apart and can be a little challenging to get back together so definitely a toy for parents to use with children and not for young children on their own. First time using it they played together for over an hour talking and giggling. The track and train parts are plastic and sturdy. All of the included parts are colorful and seem to be well made. The only part I don&rsquo;t care for are the labels that have to be attached. They are easy to adhere, I personally just feel my grandsons enjoy taking them off and that is a downfall. My 5 year old is able to take them apart and put them together relatively easily. They are compatible with the other tracks. This track has such cute details of the paint splattered everywhere. The train moves on its own and will keep going until turned off. In fact it even works off the track.
