Took my 6 year old daughter a bit to attach and detach the the cart, but once I showed her she easily does it. Batteries were not included so we couldn't use it fully for a few days while waiting to get batteries. My son has been very much into Thomas and Friends for quite some time now and enjoys the &quot;All Engines Go&quot; show that this little train, Kana, is from. She takes 2 batteries and will pull train cars on her own. My son prefers to leave her off and self push her. He has had a blast adding different train cars to her and playing with her on his Trackmaster tracks we already own. We received this toy in exchange for our honest review. I would definitely purchase this as my son collects different motorized Thomas and Friends trains! It&rsquo;s motorized which works great on wood floor or tile&hellip;not so much on the fluffy carpet floor that we have. Sturdy, when the train accidentally fell in our tab, it still works 2. Color, it is good for both genders 3. Simple design, 1 switch only to turn it on and off, so my daughter easily figured it out. Things to improve: 1. Train cart is only one, when you hear train, we always think that has multiple carts with it. 2. It would be nice if you could add train track. 3. My daughter LOVED the face on the engine and especially loved the recycling car the engine is pulling. The engine requires 2 AAA batteries to move. The battery compartment needs a screwdriver to access. This is good since the child can&rsquo;t access it without help. The switch on the top of the engine propels it forward. The train moves pretty fast, no track needed! We don&rsquo;t have any of the attaching train cars but I am assuming you can latch on additional cars to the back, as there is a loop on the recycling car. The purple color of the engine is appealing. This engine is motorized when you add two AAA batteries. We had loads of fun playing with this engine; once we inserted the batteries we were impressed by its power! It was speedy and could easy haul added items to the cargo hold. And I know judging from past experience, these are built to last. My nephew recently passed on many of his Thomas &amp; Friends engine to his younger cousin. These engines are compatible with other engines and drive smoothly on various tracks and kits.
