We got it together and the train goes at a good speed. He really enjoyed stopping the train and trying to hook the box with the lever. I will say it fell short in this area as there. It was not possible to get it hooked without user intervention. All in all it was fun and he plays with it all the time. Thomas &amp; Friends&trade; Fix 'em Up Friends&trade; is very easy to put together with easy to read instructions and did not take long at all. Tracks snapped together easily. Thomas does take batteries which seem to get used up pretty fast, but he can really go around the track quickly. The train is easy for him to align on the track. It&rsquo;s motorized which is fun and works on the floor. We love the way you can temporarily stop the train by lifting it up in order to load the cargo and then drop it right back down on the track, then how the cargo automatically dumps down the shoot. It was fun and easy for my son to do. I also love that these tracks snap together tightly so you don&rsquo;t constantly have to fix them. However, little kids will need help if rearranging the track design. We did have some issues with the train ignoring the split and driving straight even when it was set to turn. That piece should be a little bigger, but it didn&rsquo;t seem to bother my son. I wish it came with 1 or 2 more cargos to load and maybe a box to dump them in. 4 stars only because we had issues but this is one of our new favorites! Overall a great toy!! He loves trains and was excited to play with this. He was more into the train than the set itself and I think that has to do with the train tracks having a rough texture that made it slightly difficult to push the train around. It is very cute and looks like the new characters. My kids love Sandy and that she can ride with Thomas. Adult assembly is required if you have younger children. My 4 year old was not able to put it together. Both kids had lots of fun stoping thomas in the tunnel. It was difficult to get sandy to flip off the track needs to be secured just right for it to work and took us a couple tries but once we figured it out the kids loved it. Thomas turns on and off easily my 2 year old can do it by himself. Once he is going he is a little difficult to get on the track with the car behind him. This took maybe 10 minutes to put together and start playing with. One the tracks are together the do not just come apart like some other train sets that he has. They can play with it together one runs the train and the other likes to operate the crane. The instructions are really easy to follow and the track is really easy to put together. Only thing i would change is putting a neutral option so it can be moved by hand.
