He is a super Mario fan since he was a kid, so when I saw this can play set up had to get it for him. He loves the bright colors, the fact that is not just to roll it around. You open it and it has a really cool part of the movie inside. This is a good movie tie-in toy, and it looks identical to the Mario van in the movie. The van panels fold down all around to make a cute game scene with mushrooms and pipes. But there are some things about it that make me completely sour on buying it for a kid, but maybe only consider getting it as a collector item. First, it does come with one action figure (Mario, in this case). But Mario is about the size of one finger joint. He's a cute little guy, but he's definitely getting sucked up by the vacuum at first opportunity. Second, the toy doesn't make any sounds or have any moving parts to speak of(besides the fold down panels). So you're going to be making up your own stories, sounds, and moving the figure around for any play time you're having. It's great &quot;look-at&quot; toy; not so great &quot;play-with&quot; toy. For my young kiddo, the answer to &quot;what does it do?&quot; is a bit hard to answer. Lastly, and this is my main beef with the toy- the joints on the panels are not tightly connected enough to withstand any sort of pressure. Younger kiddo from above paragraph found this out quickly, and suddenly a game was born: Throw the Mario Van on the floor and make it break into all the pieces then have Mom put it back together again. And so we found the best and most funnest use for the toy. The toy now resides in the top of my closet. He really love Super Mario and enjoyed playing it. The van wheels actually roll and it can be unfolded to different locations which is really cool. A very fun and imaginative playset for Super Mario lovers and collectors. Materials are made of good qualities.
