I can sleep soundly knowing that if my baby makes a peep in her nursery, I can hear it instantly. The night vision is excellent and mounting it to the wall was easy. The Pan and Tilt is great I can move the camera around the entire room from the Parent unit. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the temperature reads a bit higher then what is accurate, the camera itself doesn't get hot but it warms up so it gives 3-5 degrees temperature difference. The video quality is pretty clear, not hd but not very laggy either. The signal bounces a bit in our building but the volume control allows me to make it quiet enough that I can't hear the feedback but can clearly hear if my baby makes any noise. I can even hear her breathing most the time it's great. Initially we thought that the night vision was horrible but we quickly figured out that the cameras for this system are meant to me hung up on the wall and not sitting on a counter or shelf. It is not at the proper angle otherwise. Once we made this transition the night vision was CLEAR! The reason I didn't give it a 5th star is because our monitor broke on the model we had bought and it wasn't even a year old and they discontinued it and the cameras we had for this monitor also were not compatible with the new summer infant systems. So now we have these 2 cameras that are hardly used, just sitting here collecting dust. It is unfortuneate that they do this. We were so happy with our first one, we figured this was just the newest version but it is TERRIBLE! Come night time I couldn't see my baby. We contacted Summer Infant as we thought there was an actual problem with the camera, they sent a new monitor no problem and it was the same. It looks like there is a film covering the camera. It is so grainy, it almost looks like there is smoke in the room. I'm not sure how this camera made it past product testing. I have been using it with my toddler while awaiting new baby. It's a great monitor with a clear video picture. My son loves picking his nightlight color before bed. I love that you can keep the sound on but shut of the video for night time sleeping, but with a quick touch of a button you can quickly resume video. The Zoom option is great and I think I will really enjoy this feature with a newborn, where as now I can use the panorama option and scan for my toddler who should be in bed! The only thing that I have found is that the battery didn't seem to hold its charge for too long. I haven't fully got to test out the range of the monitor yet with the cold winter weather but works well throughout the inside of my house!
