We don&rsquo;t even close it half the time because opening and closing it is nothing but a pain. The gate doesn&rsquo;t slide smoothly. The banister attachment doesn&rsquo;t not secure well and therefore moves. If the straps loosen or move the slightest bit (which they do everytime you touch the gate, no matter how tight the straps are) it is very difficult to open or close the gate. Would not recommend this gate.
