They won't be here forever, but it makes me wonder if i have to keep tying plastic bags around the bars for my little one too... In any case, she's learned to climb up the stairs on her own now! Buying another gate for the bottom of the stairs. We put it at the top of our stairs, so we needed to use screws instead of just tension. But it was still quite simple even with baseboards. It can be easily opened with one hand, just requires some thumb movement and to pull up on it. The things I would change would be to make the opening larger, as it feels a bit tight, and the bar on the bottom is kind of awkward, especially at the top of stairs.
