My daughter is 14 months and on the petite side. This kitchen is way more than we expected! The knobs, faucet and salt and pepper shakers all have moving parts! Great for fine motor development. Our daughter LOVES the sound the stove makes. The sound isn't too loud and turns off after a few rounds. We also love how the oven door opens down all the way to the floor. No issues with her trying to climb it as we have heard from other friends with other kitchens. This Step 2 kitchen is definitely great! It is made of quality materials and has lots of play value. My granddaughter uses it at our house and never stops playing with it. I was able to fully assemble the Contemporary Chef Kitchen in well under an hour. It can be done by one person but would benefit from a second person to help hold pieces in place. The only tool needed is a screwdriver. Two sheets of decals are provided and they're forgiving during the application process if you need to remove and reposition. Favorite features include the burner with light and sound (requires 2 AA batteries not included) and the pod coffee maker. All accessories that arrive with the kitchen easily fit inside the cabinets, bins or fridge that are a part of the kitchen. It's sturdy and well made, but still light enough to move around the house if needed. It's a perfect play kitchen for older preschoolers and would work well both indoors or in a covered area outside. If you have a cordless drill it comes together in just a few minutes.It works perfectly in my two year old son's very small bedroom. It doesn't take up too much space and still provides him with a lot of features in a compact kitchen. I think this kitchen is best for 1-2 children max. Any more and you'll want something bigger so they can all play at the same time.There is a stove burner that makes sounds, an oven, fridge, single serve coffee maker and a fancy looking faucet. The color palette feels nice and modern and I love that it introduces caring for the family pet as part of the experience. We have had our share of kitchens as my husband manages several restaurants and my oldest is obsessed with pretending to be him.As a Mom I love that the oven door opens fully and doesn't stop at a 90 degree angle because ones that do tend to be used as seats or stepping stools for smaller children and end up breaking. This one falls towards the ground which avoids any temptation. It's very easily wiped down and light weight enough to easily be moved if needed!It has a cute modern coffee pot much like a K-cup machine and my little girls love that as that's what I use! They love the salt and pepper shakers and the ketchup and mustard bottles. The only downfall I heard from my girls was that it only came with one set of dishes and utensils. Other kitchens we have purchased came with two sets or four! And my oldest was sad it didn't come with any food. We have had some that come with burgers and hot dogs and some kitchens that don't. Luckily food is easily purchased! I would for sure recommend as a great kitchen and great value. She has spent hours on it and we've only had it a short time. The kitchen has so many features but is compact and doesn't take up a lot of room. There are so many things to play with I think she will be able to enjoy it for a long time. She absolutely loves playing with the built in coffee maker. The pot and skillet make different noises on the stove top which mimic real life. The kitchen also comes with so many accessories and it was ready to go right out of the packaging. There is a darling detail on the bottom for dog food and water bowel. We have a dog so this is so perfect for chores in training! There are a lot of other details on this kitchen that mimic our real kitchen like the cut out for water on the fridge door. My daughter has so much fun with that. The kitchen is light weight and would be easy to move from room to room, but it definitely feels very sturdy.
