This works perfect for that! Her feet are tucked safe inside and can't get out. I also like that the doors lock so she can't open them herself. The only downside is that there isn't a seat belt in it so there is nothing keeping her from standing up while it's moving. But since the doors are so high, it's not that big of a deal. The storage on the back is really nice for long walks too! We get so many comments, from parents and other adults who think its adorable to other little boys who are envious of his ride. There is no seatbelt; however, at one year old he does understand some simple commands and we taught him right from the start that if he is standing the truck won't move because that isn't safe. He also likes to slide into the bottom sometimes but again not much you can do, at least he won't fall out that way! We can't wait to remove the floor panel so he can motor himself around. He enjoyed the Step2 Push Around Buddy at a doctor's appointment he had and we thought that would make a great gift. We decided to choose the Ford Raptor because of the easy to push, but then they could grow with the toy and use their own feet power down the road. Our kids are big for their age so the ability to grow with my child gave me a piece of mind of being a better value. This is one of our kid's most sought after toys. If our now 15 month old isn't in it; our nearly 3 year old is. The kids love the open/close door feature, the mini bed (which has hauled a bag bird seed around to fill our bird feeders and other items),the working lights, and horn. The small bed allows our kids to not only take a favorite animal or hold a drink, but to help with small yard tasks that make them feel useful and gives us the ability to incorporate the child and not have to worry about the child tiring or wanting to be carried. NOTE: this mini bed cannot hold large and/or heavy quantities; I am talking a small bag of bird seed or picking up small branches that fell in yard. Just things a Toddler would find helpful while Mom and/or Dad are using other more productive means to handle tasks.
