He typically plays with swords that don't have any added features, so this was a big hit for him. There are a lot of pieces that can be changed out and are compatible with the whole line. The noises go pretty well with the movement when he's swinging it around. He also loves that it lights up. However, the light is not very bright and doesn't illuminate the whole lightsaber. The only down point about this product is that I had some difficulty putting it together after finding the battery slot. The product does not come with the two little batteries and you need to remove a screw to get access to the battery slot. This can be annoying but also good to keep kids from touching the batteries. I would recommend this product for any kid older than 4. Great option for Christmas gift! He uses to play with his friends and it glows in the dark which is fun for sleepovers. It came in the box out together, had to take it apart to put 2 AAA batteries that weren't included in it. It came apart into 4 pieces, took a minute to put back together, keep the instructions!!. If you have other sabers you can also mix and match the parts to create your own. My son loves star wars and loves playing with his saber.
