The exterior frame of the drone (the plane-shaped part) is a very light molded foam, so the drone itself is not heavy at all, it&rsquo;s very easy flying. It takes a bit of practice to get steady bearings and hover, fly and flip. It was a fairly quick charging-about six minutes of flying per charge. In my opinion, the controller was overly complicated, with the instruction manual not helping simplify it at all. We have high ceilings, so it was very easy to practice skills inside before taking it outside. Unfortunately, we never got to take it outside. We probably only got to use the drone a couple dozen times before something in the inner workings got tweaked and it wouldn&rsquo;t lift off the ground anymore no matter what we tried. And we tried. And tried. Replaced the propellers. Recalibrated. New batteries. Full charge. It was futile, it only buzzed along the ground like a fly in the windowsill trying to take off but failing. I had my misgivings about the foam, but actually the foam seems to hold up better to collisions and drops than regular plastic. It also charges and holds its charge at least average if not better. It's almost better if you toss the instructions out and just attempt to learn it on your own. I thought it would be something fun he could do with our grandson and teens. It comes out of the box fully assembled, we just need to charge the plane and put 3 AA batteries in the remote. Our maiden voyage was a little bit of a disaster as we tried it out in the house. The plane lifted off the ground and shot towards the cats, who had been checking out the humming/buzzing noise coming from the plane and then straight up and hit the ceiling, much to the cheers of the kids. After consulting the instructions again the hubby went outside and we had lift off. This time they were able to fly it around the the yard. This is very light weight plane and a breeze tends to cause problems, but once they accounted for that they were able to make it fly pretty well. There is a little bit of a learning curve when it comes to learning the controls, but even our little 4 yr old grandson was able to try with help from Papa. They had fun seeing who could do the best stunts. It is made out of Styrofoam, so if you are not carful and it crashes, the body of the plane will be damaged. I would suggest trying to land it somewhere soft. It came with extra propellers, which is great in the case that we need to replace one. Everyone, with the exception of my cats, has enjoyed flying this drone. First I love that it looks an actual jet! It was really easy to set up and get it going. It will take some time to get the controls down to a science. My daughter though seems to be grasping them better then either of us adults. The box says that this can be flown indoors or outside. Outside is definitely better unless you have very tall ceilings in your house. You can get some decent flight time in before the jet needs to be re-charged. Definitely a fun activity for the family. It&rsquo;s not relatively easy to use at first but gets easier with more use. It&rsquo;s fun once it&rsquo;s in the air. I like the variety of controls and the design looks really cool. At first we had issues with it flying backwards which we tinkered with the control buttons and go it going. The battery is also short lived, we had about 15 minutes about straight use at a full charge before it died. I also with it included the AA batteries for the controller. Overall, it was fun for a Sunday afternoon with the family and our children loved it but it does take patience and practice to understand the controls. I like that you can fly it anywhere. It is lightweight so you can take it anywhere. It comes with the drone, remote control, rechargeable battery (for drone), usb cable and 4 replacement propellers. The directions are pretty easy to understand. Getting the drone to stay up or go where you want it to go requires a little practice, but it provides hours of fun. We love the 360 degree stunts. What I like the most is that it is compact and the features are not too hard for him to operate. The Drone maneuvers very well, and it is easy to control. So simple to operate that his youngest sister also was able to play around with this Drone! Daniel can easily travel with his Drone Thunderbolt Jet X because the size is not too big nor bulky. Now it's large enough, let me make that clear, and it will fly smoothly with the ability to do flips and stunts at 360-degree! It has a perfect landing and take-off. It has a good battery life of 120 minutes; make sure to charge it up fully so you can enjoy the fullness of your Drone! The Run time is 8 minutes; it's easy to guide with the easy-to-use joystick remote control. There's a Gyro stabilization that enables a smooth flight, and the Drone uses rechargeable batteries. I would recommend trying to land on grass so you won't wreck your Drone; it took us some time to get it right. The Drone Thunderbolt Jet X is a great drone for anyone looking to buy one and anyone who is a beginner!!! It was easy enough for him to control and maneuver on his own. The wings do come off it's dropped too hard or falls but that's a simple fix by mom. Very Entertaining for kids. It can takes high impact falls without breaking. Feels cheap, base on material, and weight. Hard to land. It's very powerful. Overall my ten year old, loves it. The control uses batteries to operate, and the drone itself needs to be charged to work. I would give it a five stars, if the charge lasted more then 10 minutes, but that needs improvement.
