It flies very fast so I would suggest an open field with minimal trees. It&rsquo;s harder for my grandson to handle and maneuver but my husband got it down fairly easy. The stunt flying is much harder to conquer. It&rsquo;s very light and made of a foam. I thought it wouldn&rsquo;t last long but I was wrong! It will take a crash for sure. It&rsquo;s been slammed down, ran through evergreens, and carried off by the family dog and still in good shape! The only reason I couldn&rsquo;t give it 5 stars is because the battery does not last long, which is a bummer. It charges fairly quick but it&rsquo;s a bummer when it does so quickly and they have to wait for it to charge again. I think the longest the battery lasted flying non-stop was less then 15 minutes. The design is pretty neat! It&rsquo;s easy to see in the air. I would not recommend flying it on a windy day! It is very easy to set up and start flying. Directions are a little confusing because they have more pictures instead of words. Make sure you charge the drone before you fly it. The battery on the drone does not last very long. It probably last anywhere from 2 to 3 minutes. The drone is made out of foam so it can take a crash landing pretty well. The controller is easy to operate. The drone can do stunts, which is basically just a barrel roll in either direction. Followed charging instructions and commenced first flight. Drone looks cool. It&rsquo;s made of light styrofoam so just be mindful. After a few attempts to stabilize and get the hang of it, I turned did a cool trick and was off to a great start. After a mild, mild crash landing the drone wouldn&rsquo;t turn off. We turned it to off in the bottom of the drone itself but the front propeller just kept going full blast. There was nothing we could do to stop other than let the battery die down. Once we did, we recharged and that was all she wrote. Not a thing works on it other than the remote. Save your money as it would better off spent on just about anything else. The hardest part is getting it set up and the trim correct so it doesn&rsquo;t move all over the place. Definitely use it inside to get it set up, and it&rsquo;s foam so it doesn&rsquo;t mess up your walls. The bad part is it is light, so if it&rsquo;s windy outside it&rsquo;s a little harder to fly. If so, this is the drone for you. After a lot of pamphlet reading and pep talking, my husband determined he was ready for the maiden voyage, only to have the drone seem to constantly attack him. It was hilarious, I almost died laughing. Apparently it&rsquo;s very hard to fly and our particular one doesn&rsquo;t love to fly forward. I definitely don&rsquo;t recommend it for kids, my 12 year old couldn&rsquo;t figure it out. But if you just want it for entertainment purposes, I highly recommend it. I'm not sure what it is built for. Maybe for a young child. 7 or 8? It is very well padded and speed restricted for indoor use, but the range and stunts are made for outside. It is also quite loud inside. I couldn't imagine this being much more than a kite in the wind. Even at the top speed setting it was still lumbering around my windless back yard. The stunts are fun for a bit, but you need a LOT of vertical space to not hit the ceiling or floor. At full charge flying in the back yard it kept mysteriously losing altitude even with both stick pressed forward, forcing me to stop forward momentum and only press the left stick up. My husband and his younger brother were so impatient waiting for it to charge, even though it didn&rsquo;t take long at all lol. It&rsquo;s very light weight and easy to fly indoors, just watch out for TVs! Once we got the hang of it, as suggested in the instructions, we headed outside to get a little more altitude and try out some flips. This was so amazing! The only issue was, since it is so light weight, when a light breeze started the jet had a bit of trouble moving around. The only engineering I could recommend is the controller size; which the overall size and design does not provide an ergonomic fit for small hands. My kids had a blast, having to charge it twice in one day. It's with that being said the features on it are awesome the tricks that it performs are awesome as well. Extra propellers just in case one breaks charge time an hour and 20 minutes. The only downfalls. Even on a full charge it doesn't last no longer than half an hour if that. Also it is completely made out of Styrofoam so it cannot go outside or the wind I would take it has to be flown inside.
