They hold a charge well and the love riding them. The only &ldquo;flaws&rdquo; so far are the grip tape started peeling from the back two days after he got it. The other scooter still has probably 90% of it but it&rsquo;s peeling too. They don&rsquo;t have a scooter currently and I thought they would like this one because of the lights. I agree with another reviewer and personally don&rsquo;t recommend for &ldquo;ages 8 and up&rdquo; at all. My boys immediately said that the scooters were too slow. Manufacturer says 7.5MPH, but it doesn&rsquo;t seem like that at all! Unfortunately I am going to have to figure something else out because they have zero enjoyment right now with riding them. This scooter has awesome lights and has a kick and go feature to zoom you around without having to worry about getting tired. The scooter was perfect for my 5 year old that doesn't quite have the balance for a hoverboard yet. It took her a few tries to get the hang of it and then was totally independent. She makes sure to charge it each night so she can ride more! The motor is silent and doesn't go so fast that she can't handle it. The scooter was super fast to put together which was great since she wanted to ride it right away! My 5 yr old had fun and caught on quick to the kick start motion and speed for him was perfect, 12 yr old enjoyed it also but wanted more speed.
