I’ve been using the Prismacolor Scholar 24-pack and it’s honestly a solid set for beginners or casual artists. The pencils are creamy, blend smoothly, and the colors show up nicely on paper. They’re softer than typical student-grade pencils, so you can layer and shade easily.
You get a good range of colors for sketching, journaling, or coloring—but I wish there were more skin tones or deeper hues. Also, the tips can break if you press too hard, so go light-handed.
Overall, they’re a great entry point if you’re not ready to splurge on the pro version. I’ve loved using them to play with color combos and soft gradients!</span>
