It is a great toy for pretend play. Not heavy easy for small kids to hold even with the length of it. Lights and sounds make it attractive to kids too. My kids love the new Power Rangers Dino Fury series so they were so excited to play and pretend to be their favorite Power Ranger. The color changing LEDs and sounds are so cool! Fun toy to play with. The Saber is a really good size and has lights and sounds. It takes 2 AA batteries. When you slice through the air it actually makes sounds When you move the Saber around! The Saber also lights up. This was a big hit with the boys ! Even the 4 year old wanted a piece of the action when he seen his brothers having so much fun! I can see this getting alot of playtime! The Saber itself is a very good size and my boys are 10 and 11 and they were very excited to play with this! I will admit I also took a few swings because why should they have all the fun! I'm sure this would be a hit for about any kid! He loved the noises as it moved through the air, and he especially enjoyed that it was able to light up! If you're brave enough, I suggest getting two so your kids can have saber battles with their friends and siblings! The kids loved pretending they were power rangers and re-enacting many of the scenes from the show! He initially thought that the saber worked like a traditional sword and could be removed from the thick plastic sheath, but we discovered that it is one complete toy and everything was connected. This works well so that we don't have to lose extra parts and the thickness and dull edges of the sword make it safer than many other play swords on the market. Lighting up and the sound made it even better. Made well with soft and lighter materials to keep him safe.
