The placement of the pacifier is not the friendliest for little hands. It is not easy to allow a baby to hold when the baby is still an infant. It serves its purpose as a stuffed animal attached to a pacifier so the weight helps keep the pacifier in place. However, if the child drops it from their mouth and not old enough to grab it with their hand yet, it is not convenient and ergonomically uncomfortable for the parent to place back into the baby&rsquo;s mouth. We've always used pacifiers with an animal attached but were limited to what was available on the market as far as the actual pacifier went - I love that you can use this product with whatever paci your baby prefers. My little girl (6mo) did like the included Philips Avent pacifier so we used that one. It was so helpful to have the animal attached because she could find it herself in her crib at night, and also just kept it from falling nearly as often as just using a pacifier (I can never be bothered with those clips!) It's also nice to be able to remove the pacifier and just wash the stuffed animal, and my little girl LOVED the seal - I know that being able to remove the paci when it's time to take it away will also make things SO much easier because she'll still get to keep the seal to snuggle with. The detachable pacifier is great, it makes sanitizing the pacifier easier. And washing the giraffe stuffed animal was actually possible. The babies could easily find it in their cribs at night which is a plus for us. We didn&rsquo;t have to get up multiple times to find it for them. The ultra-soft pacifier and soft shield are great because my kids would use the shield as a teething toy. Even the rubber part at the giraffe&rsquo;s mouth was heavily used as the babies loved to chew on that part. It was a cool feature! We used the pacifier that came with the giraffe but I&rsquo;m happy that we can switch to the bigger nipple size and not have to buy a new snuggle buddy or be stuck with one size like other brands that are on the market. My initial reaction was that the soft toy was a lot bigger than I expected it to be but it wasn't too much of a problem because I could detach it when it got in the way which was mostly during sleeping times. Both the pacifier and toy were really easy to clean and still looked brand new after drying. I love that I was able to detach the pacifier and add my own even though my son eventually accepted the one that came with it. He also really loved playing with the toy to my surprise and it helped us both with keeping up with the pacifier which was a huge plus! I was actually sad that we had to send it back and we miss it already. Now I just lay one of these on his chest and even if he falls asleep it doesn't fall out of his mouth so if he starts trying to suck again it's still right there for him. It took a lot of coaxing and trying different brands before we finally got him to take a pacifier. Unfortunately, Avent was not the one he settled on when we finally found a brand he would take, but we were excited when we were given the opportunity to test out this ultra soft pacifier and plush toy combo in hopes that he would take to it. When we first gave it to him he stuck the pacifier right in his mouth as if it was his usual favorite brand, laid the elephant plush toy on his chest and went to sleep. We never had an issue with him refusing the pacifier - although if he had refused it was very easy to just detach the provided pacifier and reattach your own. When he was not using the pacifier he was very busy sucking away on the arms, legs, trunk, and soothie holder (rubber piece on the end of the trunk). Now, I&rsquo;m not really a fan of spitty, wet stuffed animals so I loved the fact that it was so easy to just hand wash the plush toy in the kitchen sink and let it air dry. It's definitely my favorite of all of the ones that he's tried-- I liked that the shield was breathable, and he seemed to like that it was soft. It really is a unique feeling, and I think that this paci will be my go-to recommendation for new moms from here on out. It's really great! What sets this apart, though, is the sweet little stuffy that's attached! My son loved it! He would cry when it was out of reach, and it went along everywhere with him! I really like that the stuffy has an attachment so that you can use the solid silicone pacifier. That would have really come in handy with my daughter who only ever took that kind. This product is different from others on the market because of the ability to detach the pacifier. I think this is WONDERFUL! I loved that you could toss the little Snuggle Monkey in the wash, and still use the paci if needed. The monkey itself I can highly recommend because it has something that makes it the far best in my opinion. The reason being because it has two spots to attach ANY pacifier of your choice, even though i will highly recommend to try out the super soft, comfortable, light weight Avent soft pacifier first! It has an ultra softness that makes it stand out and work compared to All other pacifiers oit in the market. My son accepted it right from the first time i gave ot to him to try. This particular monkey plush attachment that holds babys pacifier was perfect for my little one because its not directly in the babys face, chin, and mouth. You have a choice to attach the paci on one of the monkeys super soft arms, you also get an extra spot to attach a paci on the monkeys mouth, not only one spot but two! Which is a plus for mommies and babies. I also noticed my baby being able to cuddle his little cheeks into the monkey plush due to where pacifier is placed, on the monkeys arm, he loved it so much! The monkey was a big help in finding the pacifier in his carseat,crib, bassinet, and play pen with the monkey attached to it! It was very easy to wash with the rest of the baby clothes, we tossed it with his clothes and it was completely intact! I LOVE this pacifier and toy combo. The giraffe is soft and cuddly. It's easy to pull off the pacifier and wash should it become dirty or drop. We were still able to use the pacifier on its own while the toy was being sanitized. It's got a great velcro loop to attach to the pacifier that showed no signs of wear, or losing its grip with as often as we unattached and reattached the pacifier to it. The arms and legs were great for my daughter to grasp onto and she loved holding onto them as she would suckle. The pacifier itself is amazing! We've gone through several different brands and she's pretty much rejected them all. She can't keep them in her mouth and spits them out very easily. This style - she loves, and it has quickly become our go-to to soothe her. I like that it has a small thin handle, and wide cutouts in the shield, so the pacifier in no way blocks her ability to breathe as some other brands do. I liked the shape of the nipple, as it was long enough for her to attach to, but not so big she'd choke on it. She is in love with the giraffe and the pacifier. She is in the teething stage right now and it provides her with a great deal of comfort. She is very picky about her pacifiers (only enjoyed the green soothies from Avent since birth) but the ultra soft pacifier is hands down her favorite. With the ultra soft, she keeps it in her mouth for much longer periods, for nap or sleeptime, etc. She will put it in her mouth on her own. The snuggle buddy giraffe toy is the perfect size for her hands. She plays with it constantly and gnaws on it sometimes. She also hugs it to sleep with her and loves having it on her belly or next to her face. Both items provide a calming experience for her when she is otherwise stressed out or bored and need entertainment. Our toddler knows how much her baby sister loves this toy too so when she is upset will give it to her. So our child is now 6 months and we still wash and sanitize all her toys. We love that you can remove the pacifier from the toy easily (for us, not for the baby) so you can wash both separately and sanitize the pacifier. We like that there is the option to grow with this toy so when she is older and we want to wean her from the pacifier, we can remove it. Its great also having an option to change the pacifier to a different one if your baby has a different preference. I think the only thing missing that would make this more amazing would be if there was a cover for the pacifier but we have not had any issues with keeping it clean. We had the elephant snuggle, it was so cute and super soft, and let me tell you, when baby is crying my husband can find that elephant way quicker than a missing pacifier! With this soft toy, you can use whatever pacifier baby likes, which is so great, because she changes what she likes from time to time. The other thing that I found to be a great feature is that you can detach the pacifier and sterilize it, AND throw the toy in the washing machine and clean it. Also I absolutely love the detachable elephant, it helped my little one hold the pacifier and snuggle with it when she was tired. Also it makes the elephant SO easy to wash, no more wrapping the nipple up in a bag to wash it in the washing machine! We both love it! I immediately fell in love with the elephant and entire concept. I am a second time mom, and owned a similar product for my son years ago, but always questioned how clean it was on a daily basis. This adorable elephant makes me smile, not only because it is cute and friendly looking, but because it makes sense to make the pacifier removable! Being able to machine wash the elephant and swap out pacifiers throughout the day makes it hygienic, which is very important to me. I found that I am able to balance the pacifier on top of the Snuggle Buddy when not in use to keep it clean. I also liked the long term concept that the Snuggle Buddy could attach other teething items or be used alone as a comfort item when weaning from pacifier usage. At first, I was a bit perplexed by the silicone piece on the truck, but then realized it was for the soothie pacifier. I was also a bit disappointed to see velcro on the the Snuggle Buddy. I thought it would snag and ruin fabric or scratch my daughter's face, but it held firm and never bothered me whatsoever. My daughter is exclusively breastfeeding, so she needed to adjust to using a pacifier and over the course of a week, I ended up experimenting with 5 different pacifiers. Most brands fit the velcro tab or the silicone tab of the elephant. What a genius concept! I can use the same Snuggle Buddy for any pacifier. I love that the Snuggle Buddy allows me to customize it with the perfect pacifier that my daughter prefers. Ultimately, she seemed to like the Ultra Soft pacifier the best. Its nipple shape allows it to be used easily without worrying if it is upside down. The shield of the pacifier is great for her, because its shape and material were designed to be soft and flexible against her face. No marks or irritation on her delicate skin. It is lightweight and doesn't pop out of her mouth, unless she releases it. Many other types of pacifiers make her gag, but not this one! The pacifier is also easy to sanitize making it hygienic to use. All I need to do is pop it in the microwave for a few minutes and it is ready to use again. In addition to being comforted by the pacifier, she sweetly holds the elephant. At only 7 weeks old, my 11 pound baby was able to keep the elephant balanced on her chest and use the pacifier as long as she wanted. Once she was done with sucking, she would release the pacifier, but always had it near enough to latch again. I can tell that she likes the gentle weight of the elephant on her chest. My 3 month old loves the stuffed seal. She is always holding it, playing with it and and putting it in her mouth. Because of this though, she keeps accidentally pulling the attached pacifier out. As for the actual ultra soft pacifier that came with it, she often gags on it for some reason. We use the Avent Classic Pacifier so that's just what she's used to. It's really nice that I can easily switch out the pacifier. I also noticed that the pacifier came unattached from the snuggle buddy easily since she was always playing with it. I like that it was easy to find that paci when it's attached to the seal. It is very easy to sanitize both the pacifier and the seal. I put the seal in the washing machine and let it air dry and it dries quickly which is nice. This is also really light weight when it's all together which is important if little ones use it once they have teeth that there's not a lot of weight pulling those little teeth forward.
