We also received the Philips Avent Infant Starter Bottle Set as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My Son began to refuse to take bottles around 4 months of age and was only being breastfed when we received the bottle set and bottle nipple. It was super helpful to have a variety of nipple choices to try with our son, because despite his age the medium nipple flow was too fast for him. However, we were ecstatic when our son took breastmilk from the Phillips Avent Bottle with the Philips Avent Natural Slow Flow Nipple. He is currently 5 months and still using the Slow Flow Nipple. I strictly breastfeed so that means lots and lots of pumping at work. My little one gave me problems in the beginning taking a bottle, so that meant lots of traveling back and forth to home during my lunch break (which for me was great to see him but not so great for my co-workers). After many different brands of bottles, he finally let go of his stubbornness and gave in to the idea of a bottle! Everything was packaged really well when I received the product; no defects at all. First off, I think it is great to have a variety of nipples ready to go for your little one! Currently mine is still on a slow flow nipple (he seems to get too much and kind of chokes on the milk). I was a little unsure of these nipples. My little one is VERY picky about his nipple styles. He seems to gag a little on the longer ones like most bottles have. So on first use with the medium flow I wasn't expecting too much, but to my surprise he loved them!!! He took it great and drank the whole bottle without any issues! I do think though that if I would have tried these at the very beginning of our bottle journey he would not have liked them, but since he is getting used to bottles now he seems to have no problem with these. My guy never had issues with colic but this would be a great option for any babies since this has an anti-colic vent. These are very easy to clean (especially if you are like me and don't have a dishwasher). I love the shape of this nipple (the wide-base and flexible nipple) and I think this is why my little one took so well to it. I would definitely buy this as a baby shower gift and recommend this product for all moms to put on there registry! It's a great idea to think ahead and have more flow options ready to guy when your little one is ready for it! Our baby took to the nipple immediatley — I think the shape of it is perfect for her mouth and she doesn’t complain one bit when I feed her with it. We've tried (and in most cases, failed) to give him several different types of bottles. I'm pleased to report that he did take a bottle with the Philips Avent Natural Variflow nipple! (Pro tip: we tickled his lips a bit with the tip of the nipple, and that encouraged him to latch onto it.) The downside is that the flow of milk was pretty fast, even on the smallest setting. My baby is a leisurely sipper, so this may have more to do with his eating personality than with the product itself. I breastfed my first baby exclusively because I could not find a nipple that he would take successfully. Although I love nursing, I always wished for the additional freedom that comes with a baby who can be bottle-fed by someone else. With my second child, I was determined to find a nipple that worked! I tried a dozen different nipples to no avail until I finally attempted the Philips Avent Natural Variflow Nipple. What a difference! After a few minutes of hesitation, my baby latched on and took to the nipple just as well as she breastfeeds! I really believe the difference is the feel of the nipple in her mouth and the variable flow that more closely mimics the experience she has while nursing. When my baby latched on to this nipple it was like she was latching on the my actual breast. The nipple is well made and is sturdy.I like the fact that they simulate the actual breast even though they are not newborn size. I felt like the flow was a nice natural pace as it did not seem like my baby girl was sucking too slow or too fast; she did not get choked up and she did not even have to produce a burp. If you are looking for a great nipple that acts and look like the breast, I highly recommend this product.
Date published: 2018-01-18

Rated 5 out of 5 by theresacherii from Great Value and Awesome Nipple for Breastfed Babies This nipple is amazing. It has everything you could possibly need to bottle feed your baby, even if you breastfeed (hopefully you will leave the house sometime haha). The assembly is very quick. The large lid makes it simple to transfer breast milk into the bottle. We just discovered that he has a lip and tongue tie so we had to supplement with bottles to ensure that he is gaining enough weight and the slow flow nipple made the change to bottle feeding some easy for us. These nipples were fantastic and made it so he had no problem transitioning from the bottle to the breast which is a common concern with breastfeeding moms. The nipple shape is great and feels like the real thing! My daughter is fed from the breast about 80% of the time. She really only gets bottle fed when I’m working or when it seems like she needs another ounce or two before bed. When we first introduced a bottle it was with a preemie nipple so as to prevent her from having a preference for the bottle over the breast. We have recently introduced the size 1 nipples from Avent and she did fabulously with them. We couldn't really tell a difference between them and the preemie nipples except that she did finish her bottle a little quicker. She didn't have any gas or spit-up issues after using these nipples. Since we did so well with the size 1 nipples we thought we would give the size 2 a try and then the 3 since she is within the age range and wanted to see how she would handle it. We didn't make it past the size 2 nipple. She seemed very overwhelmed by the flow of this nipple and we had to switch back to the size 1 nipple. Overall, I think it's super helpful to have a variety of nipple choices for baby as they develop. Unfortunately, we just aren't quite ready to move to a faster flow. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this Philips Avent natural medium flow nipple to try and review.
Date published: 2018-01-18

Rated 5 out of 5 by kristinamaree from Great soft nipple, ready for an eager eater! We are a mixed breastfeeding/bottle feeding household, so it's been a huge concern that whatever bottles/nipples we use for our little 4 month old won't lead to any nipple confusion or bottle battles and there are so many options available today! These nipples are an ultra soft and flexible silicone and my little one latched right on the first time with no problem, better than with our usual bottles even! I was concerned that since she was used to a flatter bottle nipple she would struggle but she did great with the round natural nipple. They are super easy to put into the lid and snap into place so you know they are sealed and won't leak. They have an anti-colic system built in which means no extra parts to clean and no gassy baby! Our only issues with these nipples were our little poky eater just wasn't quite ready for the faster flow yet and when she'd get to the bottom of her bottle, the nipple would get pinched off since she's an upright feeder. These will be great as she starts to eat faster - thanks weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple!
Date published: 2018-01-18

Rated 4 out of 5 by Keri31 from Better for an older infant [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple. My mostly exclusively breast fed daughter takes a bottle once to twice a day from her father to give me a break. Once we discovered Avent's natural baby bottles, it made those bottle feedings a breeze for him. We tried the Variflow nipples but she had a difficult time getting used to flow, mostly because it came out faster than she was used to. We are sticking with the ONES for now and will try the variflows again when she gets a little older and needs to move up a size.
Date published: 2018-01-18

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Natural shaped and natural feel bottle nipple Thanks to the folks at weeSpring Parent Panel, my 6 month old baby was able to test the Natural Variflow Nipple by Phillips Avent. The review provided is my own experience with the Natural Variflow Nipple, and not influenced by Phillips Avent or weeSpring Parent Panel. Here are my two cents... *Before testing this nipple, my baby girl was first breast fed, and then introduced to a bottle. Without fail, each pregnancy I lose my milk around 4 months, so I had already purchased bottles and nipples. When she was introduced to the Philips Avent nipple at 6 months, it seemed like such a better fit for her mouth. She adjusted without missing a beat, and watching her eat looked much more natural, like she was eating off of the breast again. *The Natural Variflow Nipple is wide, has natural feeling groves, and forms into a natural looking nipple. It looks more like a real breast/nipple than any other bottle nipple I have yet seen. There are 3 flow rates: I, II, and III, and when my 6 month old baby started using this nipple she preferred the flow rate III. This was also recommended age rage for that flow rate, so it seems that the flow rates are correctly paired with the age of the baby. *My baby did not experience much colic or gas from birth, and I am happy to see that did not change when I changed her bottle nipple either. The Natural Variflow Nipple has anti-colic valves that release air back into the bottle rather than the babies tummy. The best part about this is that it's all engineered into the nipple, and doesn't require extra pieces to keep, or to be looking for during those early morning feedings. Overall, I highly recommend this nipple. My baby prefers it too. It's more natural looking and feeling. The flow is perfect for her liking. It doesn't leak when she drops it, or tries to roll over when drinking. Because it's wide, it's not only more natural looking and feeling, but it's much easier to keep clean. A normal bottle brush can clean it just fine, without having to buy or use a separate brush for the nipple alone. As a mother of 4 children ranging in age from 6 months to 8 years, this has been the best nipple I have yet used for my babies. I have since purchased the Philips Avent My Natural Trainer Cup, because it is the perfect adjustment from a bottle/nipple to a sippie cup in my opinion.
Date published: 2018-01-17

Rated 5 out of 5 by EmilyD from This is a convenient product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been breastfeeding my baby from the beginning and was a little reticent to start bottle feeding because I've heard that babies can get nipple confusion; my concern was that if I started her on the bottle too quickly, she wouldn't want to breastfeed. So I waited until she was over 2 months (what my pediatrician recommended) and had her try some of the bottles and nipples that my older daughter had used. She wouldn't take them! My mom, mother in law and husband all tried giving her the bottle and she cried and cried. The pediatrician recommended trying different brands so it was perfect when the WeeSpring Parent Panel sent me the Avent Natural Variflow Nipples to try. My daughter had no problem with this one! I think what made the difference was that these nipples are more similar to my nipple so she took to it more easily. Also, I love that I can adjust the flow of milk that she gets - there are 3 settings that can be adjusted to get a slower or faster flow. This is so convenient because as your baby adjusts and finds the right flow, you don't have to keep changing out and washing a bunch of nipples in the process. She tends to be a hard sucker so I found that the slower flow worked for her. I'll definitely be buying more of these nipples.
Date published: 2018-01-17

Rated 4 out of 5 by kwillia88 from Great option, but I'll stick with a lower flow nipple [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. My daughter is an eager eater - she's yet to turn down a nipple (bottle, breast, or pacifier), and she took to this nipple just fine too! That being said, I have heard that it's best to stick with lower-flow nipples for breastfed babies, so they continue to "work for it." My daughter is currently 4 months old and she is becoming more efficient at feedings, but I could see her preferring a bottle if she can get her food even faster. Since I prefer to breastfeed (over bottle feeding), I'll stick with a lower flow nipple.
Date published: 2018-01-17

Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle Nipple, Medium Flow Nipple 3M+ - 2-Pack Reviews - page 4

y_2025, m_6, d_14, h_5

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.42

cp_3, bvpage2n

co_hasreviews, tv_10, tr_225

loc_en_CA, sid_EC068E7C, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_toysrus-ca

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 7ms

reviews, product
