They don't bleed through, the colors are bright, and they last a very long time. They are good for coloring because of the tip shape. You can draw sharp lines with these without and smudging. The tips are slightly flexible and their size makes them easy to use for extended use. First off, the pen itself writes great. It reminds me more of a really fine tipped marker but with the precision of a pen. The felt tip itself is not too exposed outside of the pen casing so there's no feathering on the page. I also didn't experience any smearing. You can see the writing through the back of a standard sheet of notebook paper, especially with the darker colors, but that's to be expected. I think this would be less likely to happen on thicker paper. These pens are great for everyday use to spice up normal old writing and at the same time for special use like scrapbooking. I think they would be especially fun for teachers to use. The scents are great, the pack is 'brunch' themed, and none are overwhelming. Most I was able to guess what they were without reading on them what scent they were. Some were a little harder to guess so it&rsquo;s great that it says right on them what scent they are. The lemon bar one smells like fruity pebbles though. Other than that one, they all smell exactly like the real thing! They write exceptionally well so that is a major plus. I definitely want to get some of the other scent packs. I remember similar ones as a kid but these are 100000000x better. They have a fine point tip and if feels kinda like a felt tip to me. Each pen also had their own unique scent. It went anywhere from hazelnut to grapefruit. I can use them anywhere. Mostly I like to use them in my calendar or putting different color smiley faces on my kids papers. I did not see any smudging or transfer to other papers or clothing The one con I had was that one of the pens had a scent but no ink in it. The tip was just white. It was the light blue pen that had a scent of Vanilla Blueberry Tart.
