The toys are designed for ages 3 and up, so the figures are light, but thick plastic giving me the impression that they will be hard to break and I would not expect any small pieces to come off causing hazards. The figures are well painted. The dogs are made very well, with a lot of detail and vibrant colors. Any child three and up would love this set. They would enjoy playing with the figures, while watching the TV show or movie, paw patrol. The figures also encourage imaginative play, since you can act out the different scenes that are on TV. My kids just love them. They are small enough for them to carry around but large enough for them to enjoy playing with. They are a hard plastic so I have no worries about pieces coming off and getting lost or eaten by my doggies. It also comes with a cardboard backdrop but that's pretty much useless. Because of the box, they immediately identified it as &quot;from the movie&quot;. I don't think there was anything movie specific about them, they look like regular paw patrol to me. The figurines are kind of small but they fit with they paw patrol vehicles my kids already have so that's useful. The figurines seem sturdy and the color on them are pretty good. There are no small detachable pieces so I have no problem with my 3yr old player no with them. Overall, it seems a decent buy for the price since you get all six pups. It's disappointing that Liberty isn't in the pack, as this is a Paw Patrol: The Movie item and she was one of the main characters.
