My first impression was of amazement at how the bottle was constructed. I loved the colic free structure for feeding. The milk flow is controlled by how hard the baby is sucking the bottle. Unique. My first thought was how the baby was going to react to the shape of the nipple. I was right as he did not like the shape of the nipple at all. In my opinion if he had it from birth then maybe but at 6 months old he rejected it completely. I love the advanced venting system of how the milk flows and with no air getting into the bottle it is geniusly made. Keeping air from getting into the bottle is a mothers dream come true. The feature I most loved was the changing of the color of the bottle when the milk is too hot. I&rsquo;ve used several bottle brands and absolutely loved these. They had few parts and were easy to clean. They did not spill. I think the nipple is a little too big for my child. He is still on Preemie nipples from Dr. Browns and I believe this must be a stage 1. I think the concept is awesome to have a bottle that tells you if the bottle is too warm for your child. That is most parents concern before a bottle feeding. The nipple unfortunately was too big for my Preemie Baby&rsquo;s mouth so overflow was an issues immediately. I had to tilt the bottle in small increments I order to keep the bottle from overwhelming him during feeding. Overall, the product was well received by baby and we noted a few really positive things about the bottle that we found beneficial. I did not notice any difference in my baby's fussiness with this bottle, but he also does not have colic. He was unaffected for better or worse by these bottles. I did find them hard to wash. There are a lot of pieces, and most annoyingly I found the cap very difficult to remove from the nipple once it had been unscrewed. It got stuck. I also don't like how the nipple is built into the ring, so the entire unit is one piece and cannot be separated. On the one hand, they are very good quality bottles that are well-made and durable. I feel like these bottles would last many years and through multiple babies if needed. I did not notice any difference in my baby's gas with these bottles, but he does not have colic. The bottles did not make him any better or worse. One thing to note about these bottles is that they have multiple parts that need to come out and be washed with each use, similar to the Dr. Brown's bottles. I didn't really mind that, but what I really disliked was the setup of the lid and nipple. For me, the lid got stuck on the top of the bottle and was very difficult to remove when I was washing the bottles and had unscrewed the lid from the bottle. I had to get a rag to get it off, and even then it was difficult. So this was very frustrating to me. Also, the nipple does not separate from the plastic ring, so I'm not sure how you would size up in nipple size? I guess you have to buy an entire new set of nipples and rings, rather than just the nipples themselves? So my biggest complaint was just with the design of the lid and nipple itself. This bottle has a thermometer on the side of the bottle which tells you if your milk is too hot or cold. It came with a bristled scrubber to reach hard to place areas when washing the bottle. Unlike other anti-colic bottles I&rsquo;ve tried from different brands, NUK has fewer counterparts and is easy to assemble. As a parent I do like these features and overall design of this smooth flow bottle. However, my daughter, who is 7months had difficulty getting used to the nipple. Since she sucks hard, more milk flows and she had trouble swallowing the mouth full of milk. The nipple is also designed to fit into the mouth one way. Round part of the nipple facing toward the roof you your mouth and smooth part of nipple on tongue. This was difficult to position in dim lit areas, such as her nursery during nap times. This nipple does not detach from the bottles lid. While using NUK my daughter hasn&rsquo;t had any gassy problems. Overall I liked the feel of these bottles and it appeared that it is helping my son with gas pain. In comparison to Dr. Brown (which is the only other bottle I have used) I would recommend NUK over Dr. Brown for the simple reason that NUK did not leak all over me while feeding. You can twist the collar on and it is fine where Dr. Browns needs to be in a very specific spot to work well. Once we get the formula in them and start shaking them the bottle starts leaking from the part of the nipple that screws in.
