First he had to peel back the film on the blue mutation liquid before pouring into the mutation chamber. The foil on top was a bit tricky to peel back but he was easily able to follow instructions and talk himself through the reveal step by step. Once he had pressed the fingerprint scanner and the blue liquid started turning clear to reveal the metallic panther, he got excited that something was happening and couldn't stop smiling. I did have to try stop myself from laughing at him when he released it from the chamber and couldn't work out why the panther was dry or where the liquid had gone . He absolutely loves his new Metallic Panther, but one thing he did say was he thought even if it was just the once as it was being revealed that it would have been nice to have a bit of lights or sounds. They also enjoy science and being involved with experiments, so this should be the perfect toy for them. The unit is fairly easy to set up with clear instructions, plus it feels a fairly robust for a child's toy. My children who are 8 and 10 could open it up themselves and set off the experiment. The chamber itself is a great size and the awesome moment the panther is revealed is just great. The element of surprise from doing all the steps is great to reveal a really good figurine. The button to push down to do the reveal did seem a little stiff, but with an adults help and a little bit of oomph, the reveal started to happen. When the reveal takes place it does tell you it may leak. So we grabbed a bowl and also paper towel. The blue liquid was really minimal so no need to worry or stress. Easily cleaned up and didn't leave any marks Perfect! The figurine itself is lots of fun. All arms and legs move and its a great size. Our son has made up lots of different scenarios through play and added to existing toys for extra fun. They loved the experiment, the coloured goo, the magic, the panther action figure and the fact it's a Mr Beast toy! They love YouTube and Mr Beast so this was a big plus! It was great to get them off the screen and playing with toys again! The action figure Panther is really well made, the claws are sharp. The boys loved it! My only negative would be there are no sounds or lights (unlike the original beast lab toys). And once the toy is out the capsule, there's not much you can reuse the capsule for. They done the experiment by themselves and found it a bit difficult to push the button down to start the magic process but they did it in the end. It was a very wow moment when the blue changed into clear and the toy got revealed.
