The idea of a spa day is wonderful, but it fell a bit short. The doll itself is very well made, though the hair failed to hold up to a 7 year olds styling techniques. It tangled very easily and a good chunk of hair was lost in the brushing process. My daughter loved the fact that she could add the beads to her own hair. She was disappointed that the hair color chalk did not hold in her hair and after application, my hands has more color on them than her hair. There were no instructions on how to use the hair chalk so there is a possibility i used it incorrectly. My daughter was over the moon about the temporary tattoos as they truly metalic and sparkly. She has fin like ears and the color of her legs is really cool. My daughter couldn't wait to use the temporary tattoos to be a mermaid like Lagoona. I like that the doll came with hair accessories that she can use for herself or the doll. I didn't like the hair chalk. It was hard to use and didn't really work, took multiple attempts to get some color into her hair which is a light brown so it should have shown up easily. Also if Mattel could figure out how to keep the doll secure but not be a literal pain the fingers to get the items out of the box for parents that would be great. The little hair accessories were difficult if not impossible to get out of the packaging and the little ties to keep the doll onto the plastic backing were impossible to cut out without cutting or damaging the dolls hair. My 8yr old is very into hair chalk and it even worked on her darker hair without water! The beads were hard to get out of the packaging so that was a little frustrating. But they go on cute and stay on! They can be used on the doll and your child. We haven&rsquo;t tried the shiny scale tattoos yet but they look cool! The spa mask is a little creepy but my daughter doesn&rsquo;t seem to mind. She likes her robe and the fun carrying case for the beads too. I think Lagoona&rsquo;s outfit could have been better for her spa day but it&rsquo;s still cute. She has super long nice hair and the chalk holds up nicely on it. She looks just like the Lagoona G3 doll that came out but with different blue lipstick. All and all a nice doll that my daughter will have fun with over and over again. My 6 year old was so excited about all the fun stuff to do her hair and the doll. My daughter hurt her finger on the shell purse when closing it so just watch the sharp edges. The chalk you get for your hair is not very much and little hair charms/barrettes are not molded the best either. The dolls long hair is a lot of fun to play with and the robe is adorable. The seahorse comb has nice long teeth to use with the hair and I am hoping that the doll will help her learn how to braid hair. The temporary tattoos were not to hard to put on and looked good.
