Looks exactly like the game, thick durable plastic for playing in the yard or indoors. My only suggestion was to make the bottom with some type of drip. He enjoys pretending he is mining &ldquo;cool stuff&rdquo; with it. He&rsquo;s a big Minecraft fan and this helps getting him using his imagination. His 5 year old brother also enjoys it. This toy feels like it is pretty durable, especially considering it is being hit on things. They are avid Minecraft players and were so excited to have a pickaxe just like in the game. When we first got our product the kids said it did not look exactly like it does in the game, but that did not mean they wanted to play with it any less then before. My kids range in age from 6-11 and they all took turns playing with the pickaxe. It is a toy that they are enjoying right now. Realistic looking to the game. Both my youngest son and oldest son were excited when it arrived and thought it was cool looking. But once they started to play with it, my oldest said he thought it would shapeshift so he became uninterested very quickly. My youngest, whose closer to the intended age range, enjoyed it more. But he played with it for about 30 minutes the first day and hasn&rsquo;t played with it much since. He said he would like it better if it made noise or lit up. They both have several Minecraft toys and I have found that the Minecraft Nerf guns and bowand arrow and the Minecraft Legos holds their attention the longest out of all the Minecraft toys. As a parent, I think it's a cute toy for young Minecraft fans, but I'd personally prefer if the ax were made of a softer material like foam instead of hard plastic because I can because I can see this potentially breaking something or causing injury if played with too rough. Additionally, I feel the toy would be significantly better if it had an interactive quality to hold their attention longer. When toy shopping, my number one concern is how interactive the toy is and how well it would get played with.
